Organisations Recognised for Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
IEKA recognises other organisations for the delivery of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, in accordance with the Regulation on Continuing Professional Development and the decisions of the Governing Council.
The purpose of this process is to ensure that programmes offered by other organisers meet the quality standards and professional requirements set by IEKA.
Organisations that may be recognised
The Governing Council may recognise as CPD organisers:
- higher education institutions;
- professional qualification centres;
- audit firms that organise professional development programmes for their staff;
- professional organisations and other institutions that meet the criteria approved by IEKA.
Recognition criteria
To be recognised as a CPD organiser, an institution must demonstrate that it has the organisational, academic and logistical capacity needed to deliver professional qualification programmes, in accordance with IEKA's requirements.
The proposed programmes must be agreed in advance with IEKA, while the organiser must also inform the Public Oversight Board (POB), in accordance with the legislation and the regulation in force.
Recognition of activities for CPD
In addition to programmes organised by IEKA or by recognised organisations, the Governing Council may approve the recognition and conversion into CPD hours of other professional activities, in accordance with the rules in force.
These may include:
- participation in national and international professional conferences;
- publication of technical and professional articles;
- participation in professional development programmes organised by higher education institutions, training centres or audit firms recognised by IEKA.
