International Partners

International cooperation is a core part of IEKA's work and a key factor in developing the statutory audit profession in Albania. Through membership of international and regional professional organisations, IEKA contributes to the exchange of knowledge, the promotion of professional best practice and the alignment of the profession with international standards and developments.

Membership of these organisations allows the Institute to take part in international standard-setting, to follow the latest developments in the profession and to strengthen cooperation with counterpart organisations regionally and globally.

International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)

IEKA has been a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) since 2000 and gained full membership in 2008. IFAC is the global organisation representing the accountancy and audit profession, with a mission to strengthen the profession in the public interest. Through its IFAC membership, IEKA commits to applying international standards, observing professional best practice and continuously developing the profession.

Mediterranean Federation of Accountants (FCM)

IEKA has been a member of the Mediterranean Federation of Accountants (FCM) since 2006. FCM promotes cooperation between the professional organisations of the Mediterranean region, encouraging the exchange of experience, professional development and stronger institutional capacity in the accountancy and audit professions.

Federation of Francophone Accountants (FIDEF)

IEKA has been a full member of the Federation of Francophone Accountants (FIDEF) since 2000. FIDEF is an international network of francophone professional organisations promoting professional cooperation, capacity building and the exchange of best practice in accountancy and auditing.

European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMEs (EFAA for SMEs)

IEKA has been a full member of EFAA for SMEs since 2016. EFAA for SMEs represents the European professional organisations that support accountants and auditors serving small and medium-sized enterprises. The federation promotes the development of professional policy, the exchange of best practice and the representation of the profession's interests before the European institutions.
